can someone write me a fic where blaine gets arrested for being a suspicious person lurking around the gymboree when in reality he was just trying to find clothes that fit
‘Excuse me sir, we’re going to have to ask you to move along.’
Blaine raised his head, breaking his contemplation of the checked pattern of a green button up shirt. A tall security guard stood over him, arms crossed and mouth set firm. A step or two behind him another guard nodded reassuringly to a concerned looking mother and her son as they passed by.
‘Excuse me?’
‘I said you’re going to have to move along.’
Hanging the shirt back onto the rack, Blaine turned to face the man with a confused smile. ’Why? I’m just looking at clothes.’
‘Your loitering about is making some of the other shoppers uncomfortable.’
This was one of the silliest things Blaine had ever heard. Loitering? How are you meant to browse a shop without ‘loitering’? Should he be constantly on the move, snatching up shirts mid-stride?
”Loitering’? I’m not ‘loitering’. I’m just browsing.’
‘You’re making the other shoppers uncomfortable.’
Out of the corner of his eye Blaine saw three mothers standing together and speaking in hushed tones as they glanced toward the security guards, their children playing around their legs. One little boy in overalls noticed his gaze and waved enthusiastically, but before he could wave back the boy’s mother grabbed him and, with a quick farewell to the other women, hurried him off.
Blaine’s smile faded. ’Well that’s their problem. I’m not doing anything wrong.’
‘Even if that is the case, we’re asking you to move along.’ The guard’s partner stepped forward to stand beside him, creating a small but formidable wall.
‘Why? I haven’t done anything, and I have as much a right to shop here as anyone else.’
For a moment it looked as though he might get some sort of explanation, but then the guard’s partner finally spoke up, her severe blonde bun making her seem even more mercenary than her larger colleague. ’Sir, we’ve asked you repeatedly to leave. Will you comply, or are we going to have to arrest you?’
Blaine faced her legs apart, arms crossed, and chin raised in defiance. ’I think you’re going to have to arrest me.’

‘Seriously Blaine?’
Kurt’s eyes were fixed on the road ahead, but he just knew Blaine was pouting. He could feel the pout vibes wafting at him from the passenger seat as if it were a physical force.
‘They can’t just kick me out.’
‘Clearly they can.’
‘Well they shouldn’t be able to. It’s discrimination.’
Blaine turned suddenly from the window to face his boyfriend. ’I had as much a right to be there as any one else! I wasn’t doing anything wrong! I was just shopping!’
‘Shopping? In a Gymboree?’ Kurt loved his boyfriend and believed him when he said he was there with honest intentions, but surely Blaine could see how dishonest the whole situation looked. He didn’t believe it - not for one second - but it was easy to draw a conclusion that wouldn’t show Blaine in the most favourable light. ’Do you have a little brother?’
‘No.’
‘Then why would you be shopping in a kid’s clothing store?’
Blaine twisted back to stare out the wind-shield. Silence stretched for several seconds before he spoke in a small, embarrassed voice.
‘… I’m not… I’m small, okay?’
Thank god they had already turned into Blaine’s quiet street. The tyres screeched as Kurt slammed on the breaks and twisted in his seat to face Blaine, his face a mixture of fascinated horror and delight.
‘Oh my god, is that shirt from - ‘
Blaine turned his head away. ’Shut up. Don’t tell anyone. Shut up.’
‘I knew I’d seen your red cardigan somewhere before!’
‘Shut up.’
‘This is outstanding!’
Blaine pitched forward, hiding his head in between his knees in an accurate representation of what someone would look like if they were trying to disappear. ’This is the worst.’
